Gaining a taste of hospitality with Greene King

WorkStart learners are benefiting from an exciting partnership with Greene King, one of the UK’s leading pub retailers and brewers, giving them the opportunity to develop valuable workplace skills in a real hospitality setting.

Through hands-on training and practical experience, learners are gaining an insight into the fast-paced world of hospitality while building confidence and independence. They are learning how to provide excellent customer service, serve food and drinks, and support the day-to-day running of a busy venue.

The placements are helping learners develop key employability skills, including communication, teamwork and professionalism, while giving them first-hand experience of working with customers in a welcoming and customer-focused environment.

Opportunities like this are an important part of the WorkStart programme, helping learners prepare for future employment and gain the skills they need to succeed in the workplace. We look forward to seeing them continue to grow and thrive through this fantastic partnership with Greene King.

Outcomes for learners are outstanding, teaching, learning and assessment are excellent and the extremely diverse programmes that meet learners’ individual needs, interests and aspirations, prepare them very well for life after College.
