Exploring future pathways at Kingston Careers Event

Students based at Beaconsfield, Christ Church, Vocational and the Supported Interns in Kingston had the opportunity to explore future pathways at the Kingston Careers Event. WorkStart students and Supported Interns also helped run the event by talking to students about their courses, helping with the sign in and providing refreshments for stall holders and visitors.

In addition to stalls promoting the College’s own WorkStart and Supported Internship programmes, we were delighted to welcome external organisations who took the time to talk about the opportunities they could offer to young people with SEND. These organisations included:

  • Ambitious College
  • Blue Cross
  • Cardo Group
  • Disability Sports Coaching
  • The Hill Group
  • Kooth
  • St Mary’s University

Careers events like this are about more than leaflets and goodies to take home, they offer the opportunity for our students to speak directly with employers about training pathways, apprenticeships and supported internships.

It was fantastic to see students engaging so positively, and asking questions, helping them to build confidence and take their first steps thinking about what will come after they leave college.

A huge thank you to all the employers who attended the event and spoke to our students.

Outcomes for learners are outstanding, teaching, learning and assessment are excellent and the extremely diverse programmes that meet learners’ individual needs, interests and aspirations, prepare them very well for life after College.
