Successful Work Placement at St Thomas’ Hospital

Kishawn was our first student to do a work placement in the Stores Department at St Thomas’ Hospital. Due to Covid, there was a demand for PPE and they really needed help. Kishawn‘s role as a Stores Team Member involved him safely stacking deliveries in the warehouse and delivering PPE to various wards and departments. He previously worked at the Evelina Hospital, so he knew how to navigate around, and he started delivering PPE independently within the first two weeks of being at his placement.
Kishawn also had weekly job search sessions with his Job Coach and attended a few interviews and work trials which help develop his communication skills. Samantha, his manager, was so pleased with his work that she offered him a part time role in the department. Kishawn is now working in Stores, delivering clinical equipment. He is doing an amazing job and we are very proud of him.

Outcomes for learners are outstanding, teaching, learning and assessment are excellent and the extremely diverse programmes that meet learners’ individual needs, interests and aspirations, prepare them very well for life after College.
