Well done Lambeth Supported Interns
Congratulations to the 2026 DFN Project SEARCH Supported Internship graduates at Lambeth Council.
Over the past year, interns have completed real workplace placements, developed employability and independent living skills, and built the confidence to take their next steps towards paid employment.
The interns were joined by friends and family, mentors and staff to celebrate their successful year at a special ceremony help at Lambeth Town Hall on Monday 13th July. They were presented with certificates by the Mayor of Lambeth Cllr Paul Valentine.
One of the interns, Dominic spoke to the audience about his work placements and thanked job coaches, mentors and families for all their support.
A video created by another intern, Jarrod was also played to the audience. In it he said: “During my placements I developed important workplace skills and I successfully completed many exciting opportunities. It was challenging at first but it made me proud to think how far I have come.
“I would like to express my sincere gratitude to my job coaches for all your support. I feel ready to spread my wings and fly towards new opportunities.
“To my fellow interns it has been and honour. We have shared many memorable experiences together from learning in the workplace to social activities.”
The interns were reminded that the programme support does not stop here: Unity Works have a summer programme called Connect to Work which they are all encouraged to sign up for.
A huge congratulations to every graduate – we’re proud of everything you’ve achieved and can’t wait to see what comes next!
