Melissa’s round up

Assistant Principal, Melissa, is looking back at the progress WorkStart students have made this term:

“It has been a great first term for the WorkStart students. We have secured a training room in the heart of Sutton which has given the students more opportunities to gain work placements; there are several big supermarket chains that have offered work placements.

Our Job Coaches have been working really hard and most students are successfully in work placements, like Olivia who you can see if the photograph, and are on the road to gaining and developing the skills, knowledge and behaviours required when applying for paid work.

Some students are confidently travelling independently to their work placements and we look forward to travel training more students to be able to access their work placements with more independence.
One student has also successfully been offered a full time paid job in the hospitality and catering industry, excellent achievement!”

Outcomes for learners are outstanding, teaching, learning and assessment are excellent and the extremely diverse programmes that meet learners’ individual needs, interests and aspirations, prepare them very well for life after College.
