Cooking on gas!

One of last year’s Into Work students has been in touch to let us know his fantastic news. During his time on the course Michael worked in the Reprographics Department at Guy’s Hospital. While working there he made such a positive impression on the department’s manager, who said Michael displayed an excellent work ethic.

Following his successful work placement where he developed various crucial workplace skills, Michael attended a number of job interviews, and as is often the case with applying for jobs, he took a few knock-backs. However, Michael didn’t let this dampen his spirits and he continued to persevere. Michael is now working five days a week in a paid role at the renowned Ottolenghi restaurant chain.

The WorkStart team is so proud of Michael; he worked so hard and never gave up. His Job Coach, Denise said: “All his hard work has now paid off!”

Outcomes for learners are outstanding, teaching, learning and assessment are excellent and the extremely diverse programmes that meet learners’ individual needs, interests and aspirations, prepare them very well for life after College.
